Southern Cross University launched the Talent Community platform on 6 November 2023, replacing the previous Casual Employment Registers.

We are always on the lookout for great people. Do you bring a dynamic, energetic and innovative approach to your work? What is the Talent Community?

Our Talent Community connects great people with employment opportunities at Southern Cross University. This is the place to register your interest for:

  • sessional teaching opportunities
  • professional opportunities
  • research opportunities
  • Campus Services opportunities

We have a dedicated Talent Community for professional opportunities which could be your gateway to exciting career prospects at SCU! We have a diverse range of professional roles including, but not limited to, administration and customer service, human resources, information technology and marketing and communications.

The Academic Talent Community is separated into the following groups:

  • Faculty of Business, Law and Arts
  • Faculty of Education
  • Faculty of Health
  • Faculty of Science and Engineering
  • Gnibi College of Indigenous Australian Peoples
  • SCU College
  • Centre for Teaching and Learning

You can choose one or more groups that best aligns with your experience and areas of expertise. 

What information do I need to register on the Talent Community?

We will ask you to provide a CV and information about yourself, such as what type of work are you looking for, what is your availability and location preferences and what experience do you have. Up-to-date and concise information will allow us to match the best candidates to the most suitable opportunities, so we encourage you to select the areas that best align with your experience and any areas of expertise.

I have registered on the Talent Community. What do I do now?

Our hiring managers will reach out to those who are the best fit for any role(s) that we are looking to fill at that time. Recruitment volumes vary through the teaching year. If a role we are currently recruiting is not the best fit for you, the next one may be. You can update your registration at any time, or remove when you are no longer looking for further opportunities.

It is important to be aware that inclusion in the Talent Community does not guarantee an offer of employment at Southern Cross University.

What does registration on the Talent Community not do?

The Talent Community is used primarily to recruit temporary roles, and registration will not serve as an application for an advertised vacancy. If there is a specific role that is advertised that you want to apply for, please follow the application instructions in the relevant position advertisement. We encourage you to register on our Talent Community and apply directly to SCU roles that you are suited to.
